Responsibilities:
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, providing exceptional front desk service and ensuring a positive first impression.
- Schedule appointments accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Open Dental, coordinating with clinical staff to optimize daily patient flow.
- Verify insurance coverage, process medical collections, and handle health insurance inquiries with thorough knowledge of HIPAA regulations and health information management policies.
- Manage patient intake forms, review documentation for completeness, and update electronic health records (EHR) efficiently and accurately.
- Assist with medical billing processes including CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, Medicare claims, and medical documentation review to ensure proper reimbursement.
- Maintain organized medical records and ensure compliance with clinical confidentiality policies and health information management standards.
- Handle phone communication with patients regarding appointments, billing questions, or follow-up care while demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills.
Skills:
- Extensive experience with EMR/EHR systems such as OpenDental, EagelSoft; proficiency in electronic health records management is essential.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, clinical confidentiality policies, HIPAA compliance, and health insurance procedures including Medicare and Medicaid.
- Skilled in dental coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), medical billing, documentation review, and care plan coordination.
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to effectively serve diverse patient populations.
- Proven clinic experience within a dental or medical office environment with excellent clerical skills including filing, typing (10 key), and office management tasks.
- Exceptional customer service skills paired with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite for administrative tasks such as scheduling, correspondence, and record keeping.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy in all documentation.
